Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 3rd January 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how MottleBot Pty Ltd (ACN 667 211 734) (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your information when you use the FanPath Chrome Extension or related services (collectively, the “Service”). By installing or using FanPath, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Personal Data
- Account Credentials: We do not collect, store, or transmit your Instagram username, password, or cookies. The extension uses your existing browser session to make requests on your behalf but does not retain or share this data with our servers.
1.2 Usage Data
- Local Analytics: Any data analyzed by FanPath (e.g., engagement metrics, top fans) is processed locally on your device. We do not automatically collect or transmit this information to our own servers.
- Extension Diagnostics: We may collect completely anonymized metrics about how our extension is used (such as error logs or feature usage counts). This helps us improve the Service. No data is shared with third parties, nor is any Instagram data captured.
1.3 Communications & Payments
- Email or Support Inquiries: If you contact us by email or other means, we may collect certain information (such as your name, email address, and any details you provide) to respond to your inquiry.
- Payments: We use LemonSqueezy to process payments for our premium reports or features. LemonSqueezy may collect certain information (such as your name, email address, and payment information) to process your payment.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To Operate and Maintain the Service: We use local data processing to deliver the features of FanPath (e.g., analyzing your Instagram engagement).
- To Respond to User Requests: If you contact us, we use your information to address your questions or concerns.
- To Improve User Experience: Any anonymized diagnostic data collected is solely for enhancing performance, fixing bugs, and improving our user experience.
3. How We Share Your Information
- No Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, legal process, or governmental request.
- Business Transfers: In the event we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your personal data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
- Local Storage Usage: The extension may store small bits of data (e.g., user settings, Instagram data, etc) on your browser’s local storage to provide a seamless experience. We do not use this data for tracking purposes.
- No External Tracking Cookies: Because FanPath processes data locally and does not run server-side sessions, we do not set or read any tracking cookies for third-party services.
5. Data Retention
- Local Data: Any information (e.g., engagement metrics) analyzed by FanPath remains on your device. We do not receive or store this data on our servers. If you uninstall the extension, the locally stored data will typically be removed from your browser.
- Communication Records: If you contact us, we will retain your email or other communication records as needed to provide support. Once your inquiry is resolved, we may delete or anonymize these records unless there is a legitimate reason to keep them.
6. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect any information you provide directly to us (e.g., support emails). However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children’s Privacy
Our Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or applicable local age requirement). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us, and we will take steps to remove such information.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data. These may include the right to:
- Request access to any personal data you have shared with us.
- Request correction or deletion of your personal data.
- Object to or request restrictions on our processing of your data.
If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact us (see Section 10 below).
9. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document or provide other appropriate means to inform you. Your continued use of FanPath after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
